Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian song writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is a May 2015 release from Decca Records. It has been praised by the media and bloggers. The singer has released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis to promote a Christmas ad from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano hidden in the basement and being fascinated at the sound it produced. The parents of her May-Britt family as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a profession or a pastime, but to grow. She started writing lyrics of her own. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as a love for Bjork's style. Her mother had told her that her songs would not just help her gain fame, but also make others see their value to the world and appreciate what can be done with her songs She decided to start playing in front of the public. She started playing piano at age six and making music when she was 9 years old. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she revealed her plans to her parents. Aurora wasn't a dream. She just loves to write songs. According to her, she believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
