Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. It is widely believed that she was the one who beginning the current research into the study of witness memory as well as child victims as witnesses in legal situations. The number of publications by Professor Goodman is extensive and she has been awarded numerous grants and is the recipient of many awards at both national and internationally. She has consulted with numerous government agencies and governments across the world on policies as well as research on children as victims within the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of several professional associations, such as that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is also a part of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology-Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
